integratedliving Australia is a not-for-profit organisation providing in-home and centre-based services for ageing Australians and people living with disabilities in regional, rural and remote communities. The aged care and disability support services provider is hosting free virtual forums next month with the aim of increasing community awareness of home care services across Australia and how to access aged care.
The holiday season may have provided an opportunity for many families to notice and discuss the potential need for aged care services for loved ones. These forums are designed to answer the key questions people have when considering aged care services for themselves or loved ones.
Online forums connecting Australian's to Home Based Care
The Creating Conversations: Healthier at Home Forums are free community virtual events, running between 16 February and 4 March. The virtual forums are designed to answer the most asked questions people have about accessing aged care services, delivered by experts in aged care and disability support services. The forums are tailored for two groups: individuals seeking information for their own service needs and family or carers seeking information for loves ones. Topics covered include: service areas, funding options and service types such as meal plans, home and garden maintenance and nursing care.

Aged care leader's message - be empowered
integratedliving Australia’s CEO, Catherine Daley, wants Australians to understand there is help at hand when getting started with in-home aged care services. Rather than putting it off or going without, Ms Daley encourages Australians to be informed on matters relating to preventative health and maintaining independence at home.
“We can help you navigate the complexity of the system and understand the many service and support offerings available to you or your loved one. The forums will empower you to be proactive in setting yourself or a loved one up for aged care services so that people can access what they need in a timely manner,” Daley said.
“You may be surprised at the many ways you can use aged care funding to live a healthy and active life. You don't need to wait until you find it hard to do something or require help around your home,” she added.
