Our Activity Centres came alive with pets, celebrations and shared memories this month.
As October unfolds, our Activity Centres at Gosford, Raymond Terrace, Gorokan and Woy Woy have come alive with vibrant experiences that reflect the unique spirit of our community. These moments showcase the creativity and togetherness that define our Centres, and we are excited to share these joyful experiences that brighten our days and strengthen our supportive bonds.
A recent visit from Doggie Dates filled our Activity Centres at Gosford and Raymond Terrace with joy. Volunteers and their beautiful furry companions spent quality time with us, offering an extraordinary Pet Therapy experience that sparked fond memories and provided a delightful sensory experience for everyone. The dogs, including the lovely Oscar, Snowy and Shelley, received plenty of affection, gentle pats and tasty treats.
Clients enjoyed cuddles and kisses while reminiscing about their past and current pooches. We are truly thankful for these heartwarming moments and eagerly await Doggie Dates’ next visit to our Centres.

In Gorokan, our Activity Officers, Irene and Kath, showcased captivating German folk dances while dressed in authentic costumes. The performance delighted our clients, who not only enjoyed the lively dances but also shared plenty of laughter and fond memories of past celebrations.
Meanwhile, at Raymond Terrace, the festivities continued with a fabulous BBQ lunch in the sensory garden. There was delicious Kransky's, fresh salad and non-alcoholic beer to keep everyone refreshed. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with laughter and joy as clients participated in a range of Oktoberfest-themed games and activities.
Both Centres were alive with barrels of fun, making this year’s celebration a truly memorable experience for all involved. Everyone came together to enjoy the rich traditions of this beloved annual festival.

Laughter and cheers filled the air as the clients competed for prizes and bragging rights, creating a strong sense of community among new and long-time football fans.
At Gorokan, we celebrated 'Footy Week' by engaging in friendly competitions with the other Centres, featuring designated games for our clients to enjoy. Representing the Melbourne Storm, my team gave it our all. Though, like the actual team, we didn’t secure a victory in the competition.
The week concluded on a high note with a delightful BBQ lunch prepared by our volunteer Peter on a day filled with football-themed games and trivia. Together, both Centres made this Football Grand Final Week a truly memorable experience, filled with camaraderie, laughter and the joy of supporting our teams. Special thanks to all our clients who dressed up in their favorite football colours!

Our Centres will celebrate National Carer’s Week with a delightful 'Cuppa for dementia' morning tea at all of our Centres.
The event aims to raise awareness and show support for the estimated 421,000 Australians living with dementia, while fostering a sense of community and solidarity in our shared mission to provide care and understanding.
Friends and family are warmly invited to join the celebration and explore the range of services available at our Centres.
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others in the community, share experiences and gain insights into the support options for those living with dementia. Attendees can look forward to a delightful selection of delicious sweet treats, from cakes and pastries to refreshing beverages, all designed to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
